Data Visualisation: done!
I got ArianeB’s permission to cite her web page as an inspiration for my work, and have included an appropriate reference in my video.
The only thing I’m not currently happy with is the size of the video display; it’s been formatted to the design confines of the Saul Bass inspired page template I chose for my tumblr, which has a groovy little animated...

My DataVisualisation - Production Project B
Rationale
Production Project B for Networked Media production - a Data Visualisation.
Have decided on Data; a comparison between the number of 2D versus 3D feature length animated films made from the 90’s through to the 2000’s.
Let me now define 2D or ‘traditional’ animation versus 3D Computer Generated animation (or simply Three-dimensional...

Wk 13 Blog - Production Project B...
Have not been able to find a better source of data, so am going with the wikipedia page I looked at last week:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_animated_feature-length_films#1990’s
Now simply have to tally the data. Some films I am already know to be either 2D or 3D from my own viewing, others I am checking the content on their linked pages to clarify.
Progressing on my...

Working on Production Project B for Networked Media production.

Data Visualisation. Using visual media to demonstrate or represent information.
Ultimately if visual reprenstation can help to more clearly display information, then it is a important tool for both the internet and life in general.
Let us not forget how effectively Michael Moore uses images, editing, juxtaposition and video footage (Sometimes invented) to convey his contempt for corporate...

Week 10 Blog
Multiplicity. How many people add to a kind of collective intelligence. A prominent example in my mind is Wikipedia, where users can add and alter the info pages regarding various subjects.
The advantage of this system is freedom of use and knowledge that is up to the minute and constantly evolving, unlike a printed encyclopedia whose information can become dated within a space of years.

Wk 4 Rant
I’m gunna back down off my beefs with this subject. I’m wondering what I can possibly hope to achieve? Change or alter the minds of the Eggheads foisting this upon us? Please. I’m here at Uni to receive, not to challenge. To be a sponge for ideas and concepts. Even if I strongly disagree with what a certain Lecturer is espousing.
I’ll say no more.
For Project A...

Wk3 Rant
HTML this week at our lectures; very useful and one of the most vexing systems of code for the uninitiated - well, at least it is for me. There really should be a glossary of <tags> so you could use them like a dictionary when creating a page (But of course, some of them are now redundant ‘sigh’)
I was very fortunate in that I fiddled around with HTML during my hiatus post...
